We are recruiting for a licensed Optometrist to provide optical services for our clients up to 8 hours per month under contract with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). Rainier School Residential Habilitation Center (RHC) in Buckley, Washington, is a 24-hour residential facility for intellectually and developmentally disabled adults operated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), under DSHS. 

What we are looking for:

  • Up to 8 hours per month, conduct eye exams using Rainier School's optometry clinic and equipment, providing general diagnostic interpretation and written assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat ocular disease.
  • Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses.
  • Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options.
  • Answer questions and provide advice to facility regarding client's vision and optical issues.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through all client and staff interactions.
  • Scheduling and coordination of care is done by our staff, with additional medical support by our primary care providers.
  • Other option, such as independent billing for professional services, is available.

Moses Lake is located at the north end of the Columbia Basin in Central Washington.  It is the largest city in Grant County.  Moses Lake has 25000 residents in town with about the same number of residents within a 15 mile radius.  It has all the day to day shopping you need, for more extensive shopping needs Wenatchee (53 miles), Kennewick/Pasco/Richland (76 miles), and Spokane (94 miles) are not too far away.  Each of those areas have regional airports that allow for easy travel as well. Moses Lake is named for the large lake which the town surrounds.  Lake front homes are available for the boating enthusiast, there are also plenty of other lakes around as well within a short drive along with the Columbia River.  There is no shortage of places to fish.  There are thousands of acres to be explored on the Columbia Wildlife Refuge just outside of town and we have a large section of dunes which draws ATV enthusiasts from all over the northwest. Moses Lake has a mild climate without the rain you experience west of the Cascades.  There is plenty of sunshine year-round, some snow in the winter but it rarely sticks around very long.  Summers are warm to hot, but most places are comfortably air conditioned.  We have beautiful daily sunrises and sunsets.
