Full-time or part-time position available.
The position is for the following:

  • Any Weekdays, 10am-6:30pm (lunch 2-3pm)
  • Saturdays required, 9:30am-5:00pm (lunch 1-2pm)
  • Availability on Sundays is a plus, 12-4pm


We use Eye Cloud Pro for our EHR. Our excellent front staff performs AR/NCT/Optos/CL I&R training.
Appointments: Exams 30 minutes; CL checks 15 minutes.Typical day patient load of about 10-15 patients.

Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities

The main role of our newest optometrist would be to be available to provide primary eye care, medical management of conditions such as glaucoma and diabetes and post-operative (cataract and cornea) care in our Whidbey Island and Bellingham locations.

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams
  • Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease
  • Prescribe and fit contact lenses
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients
  • Promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients
  • Maintain detailed patient records regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress using an electronic health record system.
  • Handle eye care emergencies and be part of our call schedule
  • Be a part of the medical team, contributing in quality improvement and training activities.

Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • Valid state license to practice optometry
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient and staff personalities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics

Bridgeport Family Vision Clinic, a well-established private practice has been a part of the Lakewood, WA., community since 1985.  Lakewood is 15 minutes south of Tacoma, Washington.  The clinic became the sister practice to Olympia Vision Clinic in Olympia, WA. (a two location practice with 8 full time OD's).
